Compared to the local population teacher's make the equivalent of what a doctor or other high paid professional would make if looked at by an hourly rate. Beginning teachers should be receiving somewhere between 530-610nt per teaching hour. Experienced teacher's can expect far more than this, usually between 800 and over 1,000nt per hour. Private lesson prices are ultimately up to the teacher's discretion however 700-1,000nt is a fair asking price. Any less than this and you run the risk of looking unprofessional on top of not making as much money as you should be making. Here is a short list of what some of the main schools are paying beginning teachers:
| USA Leader |
500nt per hour |
| Shane |
530nt per hour |
| Kojen |
570nt per hour |
| Kid Castle |
600nt per hour |
| Young Learners |
600nt per hour |
| Cambridge |
600nt per hour |
| LWO preschool |
600nt per hour |
When choosing your school remember that money isn't the only thing to think about. Many times a low paying school will offer pay increases fairly early on and some of the lower paying schools also offer better benefits, such as paid housing, better training, TEFOL certificates and better teaching materials.
