If you're ever bored on a Friday night there's nothing to liven the spirits like stealing from large corporations. One easy and fun way to do this is to siphon some free cable off your building's main supply. Here's how:

Supplies: long flat head screwdriver

Step 1: find your cable connector/splitter

       The connector/splitter is a mass of wires which splits the main cable and sends the signal to the seperate apartments. Usually the splitter is located in an accessable but unobtrusive location, like outside a main window or on the top floor.

Step 2: remove the lock

       The connections on the splitter usually have a lock on them. Luckily for us the lock is pretty lame. Take your long flat head screwdriver and wedge it down into the lock then turn the whole thing counter-clockwise until the lock pops off. This can be a little time consuming and frusturating, but keep at it. Some of the locks vary a little so use a flash light to look inside and see if there might be an easier way.


Step 3: find your cable wire

       Each apartment has a seperate wire leading to it. Now that you can get to the connector you just need to find your cable wire and screw it in. Usually your wire will have a tag on it, identifying the apartment number and floor. The cable in the picture is labled apartment 3, 6 floor.



Step 4: cover your tracks

       You'll notice that your cable wire is now a little suspicious looking because all the other ones have locks on them. If you're feeling self concious or if your worried about the cable man sending you to a nice Taiwan jail then cover your steps by replacing the lock that you removed. You should now understand how the lock works, so just do the opposite of whatever you did to get it off and you're home free.

Step 5: enjoy your cable

       Congratulations, you are now a full blown thief. Enjoy your free TV along with the knowledge that you are a horrible person and that this is only the first step to a lifetime of crime, drug use and general debauchery. Just kidding.
